Ashton Caringer. What a guy. |

My first snowman... His name is Karl
We walked in and I swear his WHOLE FAMILY TREE was sitting in this house
So this week has been so fun. Obviously from all my pics you can see that it snowed here... Down in Indy we got about 6 inches. I love the snow. Elder Lindstrom and i had fun playing in it. It was pretty legit. Fun fact. Elder Lindstrom is not the most coordinated person and he already had a tough time biking... And now add ice and snow and imagine that. Hahaha. I think in one night he crashed like 4 times.... I was cracking up haha
Also another funny story I wanna share. So you can imagine how much fun I am having. So church was cancelled because of the roads. And our most solid person calls us after we tell him church is cancelled, and he said "do you want to come over for lunch and we can have tacos" of course we say yes and go over. We get to his house and hes like "your ready? Let's go" we were like well where are we going? And hes like we are going to taco bell. So we stopped him and explained the sabbath day and all that and he was like okay if you guys follow it, then I will follow it. So it was a good teaching moment.
Now to the funny part of the story. We go to the store to sit down and talk. And we get done teaching him our lesson and we are waiting for the bus so we are just chatting. And Elder Lindstrom is practicing his vocab with him. And cabello is Spanish means hair. And caballo means horse. And so Elder Lindstrom asked where do you go to get your caballo cut? And then me and Gilberto noticed what he said. And we start dying lying and then Gilberto was like this dude is a murderer he is trying to kill horses and cut them. Right now it doesn't sound funny. But now we have a good inside joke and we called elder Lindstrom "caballito".
Now to explain my title. We were walking to the bus stop with Gilberto after this lesson. And he was asking us what music we liked. And Elder Lindstrom was like I like every thing... And I say... Nahh he likes rap a lot. And now for the funny part.... Imagine a Hispanic that know literally no English say "oh you like snoooop dooog?" it had me weak. Then in English again he says " you like the part that says SMOKE WEED ERRRYDAY." Haha
I was Dead
Idk why but it kills me when Hispanics speak English. I love their accents. Our ward mission leader knows nothing. Like literally no English. But we are teaching him the slang. So now when ever I see him this is the conversation... "hola como esta hermano molina?" then he says back "wazzzuppp Bro" haha I love it.
Another cool story from this week. So we are teaching this 16 year old Honduran his Name is Josue. And he has only been here for like 8 months. So this was the first time his whole family has seen snow probably but we get into the house and usually we just teach him. But we walked in and I swear his WHOLE FAMILY TREE was sitting in this house. There was like 25 people. So we sat down and they speak English to us at first and then we speak back in Spanish and they just go nuts. They are like why do these two white boys know my Language. But after the lesson we walk outside and I nailed Josue with a snow ball. And then the whole family joined and we had a huge snow ball fight. It was legit.
So yes I am loving the mission. It's flying by. And we are doing work right now in this area. I'm hoping this next transfer we have a couple baptisms, it's looking pretty good.
