Sorry I didn’t mean to
send that. idk why I keep doing that. But yeah we stayed the night there and
then we met our companions the next day. My companion is Elder Allred. He is
from Gilbert Arizona so I kinda know who he is but we have mutual friends so
that is awesome. We get along so good. He is just like me and we work together
so great. But I am in the really nice area of the mission and the houses are
huge here and everyone is rich, and everyone is content with their lives and
their money so they don’t want to hear our message. Everyone here is basically
catholic so when we say we are missionaries they just say that and shut the
door. I love missionary work. haha Every day we just go tracting and knock on
doors and either they don’t answer or pull the catholic card so its chill. But
we have a little downtown area in my town. So we go there a lot and pc
(personal contact) and we pass out cards and pictures of Christ and share a
brief testimony real quick and I love doing that. My companion says I’m good at
that so they will probably end up moving me to a campus area and teach on a
college campus because that’s all they do there. So I would be down with moving
to a campus. But we will see. We have only taught a few lessons this week. But
we got 4 new investigators on Friday and one on Sunday. So we are going to
hopefully teach them this week. But the members here are awesome and are really
into missionary work so that helps a ton and my ward mission leader is good at
his calling.
My
companion is really into working out so he has gotten me into it and I’m about
to be so swoll when I come home from my mission. We went and loaded up on
protein so we work out every night. There is a guy in my ward (bro lambert) and
he is huge. But he is sooo chill and loves to work out so we are going there
every morning of p day to work out and he is like our personal trainer. My
companion eats zero sugar so I’m am trying to get into the habit of doing it to
but I will occasionally eat some if the member is offering it at dinner. The
people feed us here really well. We have only had to cook one dinner so far. But
yeah I’m getting gains here and I’m going to lose weight and I have already
seen a difference in only a week. it’s crazy.
I got
my bike here and all the other packages. Thank you for everything. We
celebrated my birthday here and some members made me a cake and we ate the cake
MacKenzie made for me. The lamberts gave
me some superman socks. So that’s cool. I’m wearing them now. lol. But
yeah my companion and the other elders in our apartment complex threw a little
surprise party and the sisters made us cookies. So that was super nice of them
to do that for me.
On Friday
we meet with this Nigerian dude and he lives on the other side of our
area. We split a car with the other
elders, so we had to bike to his house, and it’s like 10 miles away so we bikes
like 25 miles one day. My legs are still sore, and we have to do that every Friday.
But I’m getting gains and that’s all that matters. Also someone sent me a
yeti cup and that’s pretty cool it didn’t have a note or anything so I’m not
sure who sent it but I use it every day so thank you for that. But I love my
mission. It’s so fun here. Everyone says I’m going to have a leadership
position here because I’m already doing so well but I don’t want that
responsibility. I’m so glad I chose to
come out here. I love teaching people about Jesus Christ and how they can come
closer to him. There are some awesome people out here in Indiana. I love it
here. Thanks everyone. I love you guys.
