This has been a wonderful week of zone conferences. Tuesday (May 21, 2019) was for the South Bend and Fort Wayne zones. The zone leaders and sister training leaders had great zone training.
What have I learned in these 22 months of being out?
But imma just make this weekly spiritual. I had an older gentleman ask me some questions while at his house and it made me do some reflecting. So let me answer this question for you.
What have you learned in these 22 months of being out? Man I was struck there in my spot when he asked me this question and I have been pondering this question all week long. And I think if I could pin point one subject on my mission that would easily be the grace of Jesus Christ... But I think every missionary would say that... so my second subject would probably be the great plan that heavenly father has for us... Each and every one of us. Every little thing happens for a reason.... we meet people and see people and talk to people for a specific reason and we can learn and grow from every single moment in our lives if we look at every circumstance with the eternal perspective. Yes I knew this concept existed before my mission but I have really been able to see many miracles being a servant of the lord and many of those miracles are because I was placed in a specific place at a specific time and maybe I said a certain thing and it can get pin pointed to the smallest trace ever but that one little thing, God Knew, God knew that this person needed that little thing at that moment of that hour of this specific day in this specific place. And that is how God works... He knows us. He cares for us and he puts people in our paths for a reason... Yes we have agency and we can choose our own stories but God already knows what that story is going to be.... He is all knowing. So, with that knowledge we know that every little thing that comes through our mind or every action that happens is for a certain reason.... And this is something that has really hit me as a missionary.
Also please read your scriptures everyday. I have seen a different it makes when we read and when we don't read... It's not even just the knowledge that we don't gain when we don't read but we feel better physically and spiritual when we are nourished by the good word. So read it.
I love everyone. I am doing good. I am working my best and I am trying to be the best Elder Turley I can be so that Gavin Turley who will shock all you guys when he gets home.
