Birthday in the field - August 6, 2018

   
 We drove down to Indy because we have a meeting for the leaders of the mission every first Friday.  We drove down the night before and stayed the night at the assistants house because I don,t feel like driving 3 hours in the morning... and they bought me a cake and made me eat the entire thing by myself and as fast as I could... then I did 20 burpees. Then 20 squats. Then 20 more burpees. Then 20 more squats... they were hoping I would throw up because they were recording the entire time. but I did it and I didn't throw up.... but yeah that was fun. It was a good way to end the birthday. My mission presidents wife called me and talked to me and wished me a happy birthday. I am excited for you guys to meet them. they are my favorite!!

      So this is going to be a very fast email, I don't have a lot of time today... I'm sorry these first paragraphs are always super lame and I never know how to start them.... for those people that like to read the introductions of my letter I am sorry I am letting you down (:

      But we had an awesome week. We have been grinding super hard and we are really focusing on our Spanish. So we have been having really good studies lately.   I am trying to help Elder Moake and Elder Winterholler as much as I can so they can catch up with me. Right now I am teaching all the lessons and they just bear their testimonies at the end.  I want them to be able to help me in the lessons so that I don't have to get done and feel like I haven't had a drink of water in 5 years...... its true it happens. IDK why but when I speak Spanish it makes my mouth so dry hahaha and especially because I am the one talking 24/7. but its good. All good things.

      This past week was my birthday and a couple weeks before that was my one year mark so the packages have been awesome. Thank you so much for everything. I appreciate all the letters and the packages that I have received.  If you didn't send anything... its okay, that's why we have the atonement.. just repent and send something tomorrow.

       This week I have been getting into the war chapters of the Book Of Mormon and Moroni was a pretty cool dude. I love how they always talk about how they made their walls strong so that they could protect their people and there is a lot more I could go into but you can relate it to Helaman 5:12. We need to have a strong foundation so when Satan comes at us we can already be grounded and sure we are going to sway back and forth when the winds come..... that happens... sure our faith might be shaken a little. but if we have that solid foundation in Christ then we will always be grounded and our roots will be deep and Satan wont be able to have control over us!
